Your Task
Your project is to design an experiment for our Annual CETNS Science Fair. this year will be a little different so your teacher will fill you in on some of the details about showing your work.
Your project should follow the Scientific Method outlined below.
A good Scientist is careful to keep a record of all the steps they have taken and their results along the way. Try and keep your notes tidy or re-write them again afterwards to make them easier to display and more importantly easier for others to read.
Note:
Your project should follow the Scientific Method outlined below.
- Title (Be creative!)
- Question: What is the problem you need to solve? What are you trying to find out?
- Hypothesis: This is where you state what you think the answer to your question will be. This is an educated guess.
- Materials: List all the supplies you will need to carry out your experiment.
- Procedure: List step-by-step instructions describing how you will perform your experiment.
- Results: Record your observations and list everything that happened during the experiment. You will also need some type of visual display such as a chart, table, graph, photographs, etc. to organize your data.
- Conclusion: The answer (if you found one) to your original question. In your conclusion, explain your results.

Note:
- You can work with others in creating a project but please keep in mind that at the moment there are still some restrictions on meeting up with others and travelling a distance.
- Experiments need to be undertaken at home with the supervision and help of parents.
- Children will be given a little time in school over the final two weeks to develop the written part of the project.
- In past years work would have been submitted on a large Poster. This year we will be making use of Seesaw so you have a little freedom to try and make use of the different tools you have available to you.
